In this assignment the class was given a photo of a car and had to retouch it. The results are below. What I Learned The assignment was very informative. During the assignment I learned how to use the quick select tool and the clone stamp tool. Before this assignment I did not know how to use theses tools so I come out of it knowing how to use photoshop better.

In this assignment, our class was instructed to choose a category/topic and take at least 50 photos of that topic. I chose "Light Painting" as my topic.Out of the fifty images, we had to select what we felt was the one best image to turn in. Next, we had to select our top 6 images to post in the blog. You will be able to see those photos below. F/11.0, 15.0 second exposure, IOS 100 (No editing done) What I Learned I learned that light painting is very technique sensitive. For instance, the camera needed to be placed on a tripod for the long exposures of 15-30 seconds long. The camera shutter was placed on a timer so I could be in position to light paint as soon as the shutter opened. The room had to be completely dark as to not let extraneous light influence the outcome of the image. I had to experiment with different exposures and intensities of the light sources to get acceptable exposures. Although most of my subjects were inanimate objects my human subject had to hold perfectly still as not to create motion blur. I really enjoyed this project and I feel there are many more possibilities with this technique.
For my second photo assignment I have decided to chose the topic of Light Panting. I am hoping to make fun and interesting photos that will help me better understand how to use shutter and aperture settings on my camera. I hope I will be able to show my creativity through the photographs taken. The photos below I will use for inspiration. By Jannis Sid By Ryan Moats By No Name stated (Web Design Library)
In this assignment, our class was instructed to choose a category/topic and take at least 50 photos of that topic. I chose "Animal" as my topic. Out of the fifty images, we had to select what we felt was the one best image to turn in. Next, we had to select our top 10 images to post in the blog. You will be able to see those photos below. Best Photof/1.4, 1/80, IOS 800 (No editing or cropping on this image other than converting from RAW to JPEG) What I Learned With this assignment, I learned the difficulty of the editing process. I had to to look critically at my images and choose the best ones to feature in my blog. I learned how to combine compositional elements to enhance visual interest of my subjects. For instance, my first photo combines framing, depth of field and rule of thirds to draw the viewer to the cat. I learned how to use an extremely shallow depth of field (f/1.4) to draw the viewers' attention to the eyes of the cats. I learned how difficult it is to photograph animals as they tend to move around a lot which added to the difficulty of my compositions. When the subjects stood still they made amazing models. I found it difficult to select which images to feature in my blog as I liked so many of them. I would say this was a great start on the weekly photo assignments.
In this assignment We had to take a photo from photo booth and use photoshop to make four layers of the same photo on a canvas background with each of the photos a different color. After the first one we were had to make a second pop art photo and be creative with it. What I learned This was a fun assignment that taught me how to use photoshop. Before this assignment I did not know how to use photoshop properly but now I know how to make layers, sharpen/unsharp, and how to colorize a photo in photoshop. Overall this assignment was very informative.
For my first photo shooting assignment I decided too focus on the topic of ANIMALS. I believe I can make interesting photos with animals as the subject. With different perspectives, shutter speeds, and apertures to capture moments in the daily life of animals. Here are some photos that I have found online that I will use for inspiration. Assignment Description Composition 1 &2 was an assignment given to help us understand composition. For this assignment, we had to take photos of certain elements of composition. For Composition 1, those elements were Rule of 3rds, Pattern, Symmetry, Texture, Depth of Field, and Lines. For Composition 2, we had to photograph samples of the elements of Framing, Perspective, Space, Balance, and Color. The following images are examples for each assigned element of composition. Rule Of ThirdsPatternSymmetryTextureDepth Of FieldLinesFramingPerspectiveSpaceBalanceColorWhat I have learnedThis assignment taught me about fundamental elements of composition. For example, the Rule of Thirds is a principle when composing that requires placing the subject at the intersection of a three by three grid. The result is an image that is more pleasing to the viewer than one where the subject is simply placed in the middle of the frame. The articles given helped me understand the elements of composition most of the time. The problem is that the articles descriptions sometimes left me confused on certain elements. Ex. Balance and Space. My hope is that over time, as I gain more experience, these elements will be easily recognized and come more naturally to me. Over all, this assignment was informative and has given me a basis for which I can improve my composition skills.
Austin KahnHello my name is Austin and I live in Saline Michigan. Some of my interests are directing, acting, and photography. I love movies and video games. I don't play any sports or have a job yet. Some of my hobbies are collecting, film making, and photography. The reason why I am interested in photography is because my dad is a photographer as a hobby. I don't have much experience in photography and this is a new hobby for me so that is why I am taking a photography class. This is me and this is what I do.
