Assignment Description Composition 1 &2 was an assignment given to help us understand composition. For this assignment, we had to take photos of certain elements of composition. For Composition 1, those elements were Rule of 3rds, Pattern, Symmetry, Texture, Depth of Field, and Lines. For Composition 2, we had to photograph samples of the elements of Framing, Perspective, Space, Balance, and Color. The following images are examples for each assigned element of composition. Rule Of ThirdsPatternSymmetryTextureDepth Of FieldLinesFramingPerspectiveSpaceBalanceColorWhat I have learnedThis assignment taught me about fundamental elements of composition. For example, the Rule of Thirds is a principle when composing that requires placing the subject at the intersection of a three by three grid. The result is an image that is more pleasing to the viewer than one where the subject is simply placed in the middle of the frame. The articles given helped me understand the elements of composition most of the time. The problem is that the articles descriptions sometimes left me confused on certain elements. Ex. Balance and Space. My hope is that over time, as I gain more experience, these elements will be easily recognized and come more naturally to me. Over all, this assignment was informative and has given me a basis for which I can improve my composition skills.

Austin KahnHello my name is Austin and I live in Saline Michigan. Some of my interests are directing, acting, and photography. I love movies and video games. I don't play any sports or have a job yet. Some of my hobbies are collecting, film making, and photography. The reason why I am interested in photography is because my dad is a photographer as a hobby. I don't have much experience in photography and this is a new hobby for me so that is why I am taking a photography class. This is me and this is what I do.
